Comment: Longitudinal Evaluation of a "Best Practice" in Early Child Care and Education: Continuity of Caregiver for Infants and Toddlers This grant supports research that will examine how the continuity of the caregiver in child care programthe development of infants and toddlers. Deborah Cryer will conduct a survey of the caregiver continuity practices in a sample of child care centers, examine the effects of caregiver continuity on infants and toddlers through a longitudinal controlled study, and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of using different continuity policies. The project will result in research reports to child care and child development policy specialists and briefings for policy makers, practitioners, and parents.
