Comment: The Impact of Special Education on Performance of Special Education, At-Risk, and Regular Students
This grant supports a three-year study tracing the pattern of student placement into and movement out of special education programs. Using a data set of more than one million students in Texas public schools, Eric Hanushek will examine the relationship of district and school special education spending, special education enrollments, and changes in special education polices to the academic achievement of special education students, at-risk students, and regular students. The project will produce a policy monograph and several scholarly articles.
