Comment: An Unofficial Dialogue on Human Rights and Prisoner Issues with the People's Republic of China
John Kamm will examine Chinese human rights practices and the efficacy of Western human rights advocacy vis-à-vis China. He will undertake archival research to develop a database of Chinese political detainees and evaluate past human rights interventions by Western governments. He will also engage in an informal dialogue with the Chinese government on the disposition of cases involving individuals detained as a result of the expression of political or religious views.
