Comment: The Promise of Charter Schools: Innovation, Organization, and Performance
Helen Ladd will assess the impact of charter schools on public education. She will examine whether the presence of charter schools in a community leads to organizational changes in traditional public schools in the same community. She will also explore how school and student performance may have changed as a result of the entry of charter schools into a community. The project's findings will be presented in a series of papers and policy briefs.
