Today [May 2005] Bell is Chairman of the Metropolitan Council in the Twin Cities, a job he was appointed to by Minnesota Republican Governor Tim Pawlenty. Bell is [was] the Vice Chair of the Center for New Black Leadership, a Minnesota-incorporated 501(c)(3) that for some reason has its main offices in Washington, D.C. Bell is also a founder and [former? ]member of the Board of Directors of the Center of the American Experiment (website). Contrary to Bell's bio at the CNBL web site, he no longer works for Twin City Federal bank - he is [was] the Executive Vice President of New Ventures Development at the Hazelden Foundation, which is a drug treatment center in Minnesota.
