Chaim Kaufmann will research and write a book that examines the circumstances under which population transfers and the partitioning of states should be viewed as a solution to some of themost protracted ethnic conflicts. Kaufmann will conduct an in-depth examination of the cases of Ireland, India, Palestine, and Macedonia, as well as undertake a quantitative analysis of more than 100 cases of large-scale ethnic population transfers.
