This grant supports a study of the long-term effects of classes with fewer students on later school achievements, crime, welfare use, and post-secondary school earnings. Helen Pate-Bain and Alan Krueger will conduct a long-term follow up analysis of an experiment in Tennessee that reduced class size during early years of schooling.

This grant supports a study of the long-term effects of early schooling conducted in smaller-than-average-size classes on later school achievements, crime, welfare use, and post-secondary school earnings. A long-term follow-up of educational and social impacts after high school will be conducted. The project will produce journal articles and papers.
