Henry Sokolski will research and write a series of reports on nonproliferation strategies in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of September 11. He will identify alternate approaches to nonproliferation policy and assessstrategies to counter Iran's development of weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles. The project's findings will appear in two books, several reports, and a series of articles.

Henry Sokolski will lead an effort to examine the implementation of the nonproliferation provisions in the Agreed Framework of 1994. He will analyze the construction schedule of the nuclear reactors to be built under the agreement and assess whether construction plans permit sufficient time to carry out critical nonproliferation verification measures. The project will result in a report and briefings for the policy communities in the United States and South Korea.

The project will analyze proliferation issues and policies and develop outreach programs for the policy community. It will also develop curricular material on proliferation issues for undergraduate and graduate programs, convene a summer seminar for university faculty, and publish two books and a variety of monographs.
