A 527 comprised of well-connected people associated with conservative philanthhropy appears to exist entirely to boost the campaign of Pennsylvania Republican Senator Rick Santorum

The 527 "Softer Voices" is run by people such as Heritage Foundation attorney Cleta Mitchell; Heather Richardson Higgins, President of the Randolph Foundation, on the board of the Independent Women's Forum (IWF) and the Hoover Institution, and a senior fellow at the Progress and Freedom Foundation; Midge Dekter, Norman Podhoretz's wife and a member of the board of the Heritage Foundation, and a founding member of Project for The New American Century (PNAC), on the board of the Hoover Institution, and a founder of the IWF.
