Comment: The Role of Nuclear Weapons
This grant supports research and analysis on the strategic thinking of nuclear powers and those that might opt to develop such weapons. Scott Sagan and David Holloway will convene seminars and commission papers to examine the views held by states regarding the military utility of nuclear weapons, the lessons learned from nuclear crises, and the norms of states regarding the use or threatened use of nuclear weapons. The project will result in a series of papers, a book, and two major articles.
