This grant supports commissioned research and working group meetings on the implicatons of just war theory on the use of force to support U.S. policy. The project will bring together philosophers and policy experts to discuss how just war theory informs policies on the use of force in humanitarian interventions, counterterrorism actions, and other conflicts that may become more common in the post-cold war period.
