Elliott Abrams will direct an initiative to examine the role of public opinion in contemporary American politics and policy making. He will commission research and convene a conference of historians, political scientists, public opinion experts, and journalists to discuss the role that public opinion has played in American politics and determine whether changes in society and technology have made a greater role for public opinion in policy making possible or desirable.
