When asked why, he replied it was a favor for his friend, fellow board member Bill Cooper, who was state GOP chair at the time. Perlman, did, however, make a $1,000 contribution to the Democrat candiate for governor, Skip Humphrey. ****Lebedoff, in a 1999 Star Tribune story, said he was no longer associated with the DFL, and as proof pointed to his association with the Center. Eibensteiner is the current GOP state chair, and Gen Olson was the GOP candidate for lieutenant governor in 1998.
